Foreign national visitors

Release of technology (or software source code) to a visiting Foreign National may be subject to export control laws.

Visiting foreign nationals should be screened against debarred parties lists to ensure compliance with regulations. (Request a free screening)

Before working with visiting foreign nationals, be sure your collaboration qualifies as fundamental research.  In many instances, a visiting scientist agreement may need to be signed.

If you are interested in sponsoring a foreign national visitor for a visa you may wish to consult with the Office of Export Controls first.  In certain instances there will be restrictions on what the visitor may work on while at Duke.
