Responsible Conduct of Research Short Course
The Duke Office of Scientific Integrity (DOSI) provides an annual five-session course in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). This course is designed to help recipients of NIH training grants fulfill the federal sponsor requirement for RCR education for trainees. Each session includes a lecture and facilitated, small-group case discussions.
Session topics include:
- ethical issues and underlying challenges in research
- mentorship
- authorship, peer review, and publication
- AI in research
- conflicts of interest
- principles, codes, and practices to promote ethics and integrity.

Registration closes August 31, 2025. Course materials will be provided. Sessions begin with a 50-minute lecture followed by small group discussions. Attendance and participation at all sessions is required for credit.
