Duke Researchers: Publish Open Access with PLOS for no cost

In February 2023, the Duke University Libraries and the Duke Medical Center Library & Archives entered an institutional partnership with PLOS to enable Duke corresponding authors to publish in all twelve PLOS journals for no article processing charges (APCs). This means you can publish open access free of charge!

What does publishing open access with PLOS do for your research? Benefits include:

Visibility

✔ Reach a global audience of researchers, funders, policymakers and the general public

✔ Increased impact: your work is immediately accessible to be read, shared and cited

Quality

✔ All journals are peer reviewed, ensuring high standards of research quality and credibility

✔ PLOS upholds the highest international standards for research and publication ethics

Credit

✔ Retain the rights to your work: publish under a CC-BY license

✔ Receive credit for all your research contributions, not just the final article

Opportunity

✔ Automatically meet OA criteria for all major funders

✔ Rapid dissemination: quickly share your findings

For more information on eligibility and participation, see the Medical Center Library's Getting Published: Open Access at Duke Guide.
