Securing research funding from foundations, associations, or industry
Duke is stepping up efforts to help faculty secure research funding from non-federal sources. In early 2026, several targeted one-hour programs will cover foundation, corporate, and philanthropic support for researchers interested in diversifying their funding. Some sessions will feature panels with Duke faculty who have successfully pursued non-federal funding, while others will focus on resources available through Foundation Relations, the Office for Research and Innovation (OR&I), and the Office for External Partnerships (OEP).

If you can’t make the dates we’ve scheduled, you can watch a recording of a similar session hosted by staff in prior years. It’s a great way to get a sense of the questions and opportunities others have explored.
You don’t have to navigate this alone! Reach out anytime to our partners in Foundation Relations, OR&I, or OEP for tailored guidance and support.
