15 December 2025

Starting January 25, 2026: NIH Biosketch and Other Support forms must be prepared using sciENcv

The NIH will require Common Forms—Biosketch and Current & Pending (Other) Support—for all applications and RPPRs submitted on or after January 25, 2026. Please see NOT-OD-26-018 for more information.

NIH has also provided FAQS for biosketch and current and pending (other) support here.

What this means for researchers:

  • Applicants and Recipients must use SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) to prepare and certify NIH Biosketch and Current & Pending (Other) Support forms, generating digitally certified PDFs for application submission.
  • All senior/key personnel must link their ORCID iD to their eRA Commons account
  • Official forms will be available in SciENcv the week of December 15. Until then, you can use the preview versions to save and edit but note: data in preview forms will be deleted once the official forms are released i.e., you cannot transfer data to new biosketch form.
  • OASIS will be launching tools to aid in the creation, review, and import of Current and Pending (Other) Support into SciENcv. More information (including details on training and resources) for these tools will be provided in the Research Insider in the coming weeks as they are finalized. Stay tuned!

What you can do now:

  1. Get familiar with SciENcv
  2. Assign delegates if needed (delegates can edit but cannot certify PDFs)
  3. Obtain an ORCID iD if you do not already have one and link it to your eRA Commons and SciENcv accounts.
  4. Update your eRA Commons and ORCID profiles to enable data import.
  5. Ensure your MyBibliography is up to date.
