Submitting requests through myRESEARCHhome vs. REDCap survey link

Many requests submitted using the Submit a Request functionality on myRESEARCHhome utilize REDCap’s survey function to capture request responses and send associated alerts and notifications to all interested parties. myRESEARCHhome populates hidden fields for your contact information and SPS record details, saving you time. It is essential, therefore, to not bypass myRESEARCHhome using direct links to the survey form in REDCap unless otherwise directed by the owning office with oversight of the process. Initiating these surveys outside of myRESEARCHhome can result in a form that is incapable of being utilized for its intended purpose, with specific fields and values being omitted. To prevent this from occurring, we ask you to do the following:

  • Always start with the Submit a Request menu in myRESEARCHhome to submit available requests.
  • When initiating a request, please only share or accept a link to a REDCap form if it has been provided directly by the central office with oversight of that process.
  • Look out for warning messages in the request form that indicate your request needs to be initiated through myRESEARCHhome instead.
  • Reach out to  ORA-decisionsupport@duke.edu if you have questions about REDCap.

We thank you for your attention in this matter. Your diligence here will help prevent unnecessary duplication of effort and unnecessarily delayed cycle time.
