Need assistance with public outreach?
Promoting awareness of any research outside of academic and scholarly circles is helpful in increasing the impact of research work, and it is elemental to engaging the general public and community partners in science. Papers that receive public attention are proven to have higher citation rates.
There are many ways a researcher can engage the public in their science – whether it is sharing findings, or engaging them in the project's field. Various modes of communication are described below. Faculty should be sure to update their Scholars@Duke page with these and other “Scholarly, Clinical & Service Activities.”
