NIH prohibits use of generative AI in proposal reviews
NIH issued a notice (NOT-OD-23-149) regarding the prohibition of generative AI technologies in the peer review process. This includes using large language models, natural language processors, and other AI technologies for developing peer review critiques for contracts and grant applications. Reviewers will be required to sign and submit an agreement certifying that they understand and will abide by these requirements.
