Department of Defense (DoD) mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) training

Duke University faculty, staff, and students must complete the Department of Defense (DoD) Mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Training for any project that is using or generating CUI data.   This training requires annual renewal.   

Training should be self-assigned using the following process:

1. Navigate to DoD Mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Training DoD Mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Training (usalearning.gov) to access the course. 
2. Launch and complete the course and quiz as directed on the webpage. 
3. Once you have passed the quiz, click My Certificate, enter your name, and download the training certificate.  (NOTE:  this certificate is proof of completed training.  Be sure to download/save your completion certificate; you will need to upload it in the next step as proof of training completion.) 
4. Navigate to the following link, enter the requested information and upload your training certificate:  CUI Form Submission

For Protected Network for Research (PN-R) users, CUI Training completion will be tracked as an ongoing requirement for access to CUI projects in the enclave.
